Bob McQuillen tunes

Bob McQuillen tunes

Bob was a well-known piano and accordion player in New England. He lived most of his life in New Hampshire, and played for the contra crowd a lot. He wrote many tunes that are now part of the local repertoire. The tunes here are mostly his compositions. A few were written for him by friends. He published them in a set of booklets that each contain somewhat over 100 tunes, one per page.

Bob was born June 27 1923, and died February 4, 2014 in Manchester, New Hapshire. The entire New England contra-dance crowd misses him. If you don't know much about him, there's a good bio at wikipedia.

If you have transcribed any of Bob's tunes to ABC notation, and would like to share them, send me a copy. I've done most of the transcriptions here, but a number of other people have contributed some of them.

If you don't have ABC software, you might like to try a tool that I'm working on that returns the tunes in various formats: CLICK HERE. This will return the page you're looking at now, but the ABC files will be expanded to show all the tunes, and each tune will have a line of links to return it in a number of different formats. You can also go directly to the subdirectories below to see the current state of this collection.
