From: Dave & Flo Hearn Date: Mon, 13 Oct 2008 14:37:10 -0400 Subject: Halloween program for Brookline To: John Chambers Hi John: Evelyn told me that you will be able to play for the Brookline class at the early Halloween night - Sunday, Oct 26th. I've noted that you have to leave promptly at 8:30. The party starts at 6:30 at the Church of Our Savior, 25 Monmouth St., Brookline. Thank you for agreeing to be our musician. 1) Festival Interceltique 4x40R. A Circle dance; Ian Brockbank, RSCDS Four Dances 2008. I'm using this as a "warm-up". There is no setting - only slip step and skip change. The leaflet was sent to members with the March 2008 magazine. If you don't have the music, I can arrange to mail it to you. The instructions say "32-bar reel with an 8-bar chorus" and the music page says "n x 32 reel plus 8 bar coda". If this is too confusing for you, I can substitute: The Loch Ness Monster 4x32R. A Circle dance; Iain Boyd, Happy To Meet. (We did this in 2006.) 2) Lady Catherine Bruce's Reel 8x32J for 2 cpls. Graded Bk.-7 I'm going to call it "Lady Macbeth's Dagger". 3) The Sauchie Haugh 8x32S for 2 cpls. RSCDS Leaflet. I'm going to call it "Scary Haunt". 4) Ferla Mor (The Big Grey Man) 8x32R for 3 cpls. John Drewry, Deeside 1 #8. (We did this in B'line in 2001, '03, '04, & '05.) I might have to substitute the easier extra if I think the dancers are not up to this. But I might ask the newer dancers to sit it out. 5) The Mad Hatter 8x32J for 3 cpls. Iain Boyd, Happy To Meet. (We did this for Halloween in 2003 and 2006.) 6) Cauld Kail 8x32M (16S 16R) for 3 cpls. Bk. 9-11. I'm going to call it "Kail Caldron". 7) The De'il Amang the Tailors 8x32R for 3 cpls. Bk.2-9. (An old Halloween favorite done in 2003, '04, '05, '06, & '07.) 8) Closing waltz (if time permits) Extra: Galloway House 8x32R for 2 cpls. Graded Book-5. I'm going to call it "Gallows House". I'll do this easy dance in place of #4 or if time permits an extra. Please let me know if this is satisfactory to you. Thank you very much. Flo
