from: holly sherman to: jc1742@gmail.com cc: Holly Valentine Sherman date: Aug 6, 2007 9:33 AM subject: music For next week Monday, Aug. 13th - I & A class I plan to teach: 1. BACK TO BACK - an 8x32 bar Jig for 3c by Terry Glasspool. It is in his book "AN ITCH TO DANCE." His suggestion for music is any slow. relaxed jig. The back to backs need a playing time of at least 4:40 in order to seem not rushed. For example "CROWN COURT" on PLAY SELECTED SCOTTISH DANCES by Jim MacLeod and his band, CDITV 491. 2. THE ROSEWOOD JEM - a 3x32 bar Strathspey for 3c by Charlie Inglis. He gives no suggestion for music - so I'm sure you'll come up with something beautiful. 3. FESTIVAL FLING - an 8x32 bar Reel. The dance and music can be found in BOOK 44 on page 16-17. If you do not have BOOK 44 - I can either fax the music to you - or you can choose any 8x32 reel music you want. For the Social, I have chosen the following 6 dances: 1. THE DEVIL'S ELBOW (R8x32) 3c (4c Set) 2. LAKE GENEVA (S8x32) 3c (4c Set) 3. FAIR JENNY'S JIG (J8x32) 3c (4c Set) 4. MRS. MACLEOD (R8x32) 3c (4c Set) 5. THE WALLED GARDEN (S8x32) 2c (4c Set) 6. Laird of Milton's Daughter (J8x32) 3c (4c Set)
