I simply find it easier to teach it according to the following. Someone else might then like to send Eric the exact wording from the original instructions. (This is a longtime local favorite in Southern California, which we dance often and always enjoy!) ROB ROY: 1-16 (fugue; note the order of starting is C1, 3, 2, 4): C1: Set, turn (2 bars), dance outside set lines to bottom, meet, dance out through third place to top, meet again, dance down and out (minimally) through second place to end in third place facing down and inward for mirror reels of 4. C3: Tacit four bars, set, turn (2 bars), dance outside set to bottom, meet, dance out through third place to top to end facing down and inward for mirror reels of 4. C2: Tacit eight bars, set, turn (2 bars), dance a "loop" out and down through third place (not to bottom) and up (inward) to end back in second place facing up and outward for mirror reels of 4. C4: Tacit twelve bars, set, turn (2 bars) to end in fourth place facing up and outward for mirror reels of 4. 17-24: Mirror reels of four (left shoulder for women). 25-32: C1 and C3 (in third and first places respectively) set twice, turn spiraling down one position (4 bars). WHILE C2 and C4 (in their original places) cast up, cross down, cast up (on opposite sides), cross over. (This must flow quickly, directly out of the reels of 4 without hesitation.) (now ready to begin again with new C1; original C1 is now in fourth place, C2 in first, C3 in second, and C4 in third) Robb Quint Thousand Oaks, CA, USA
