I am rather proud of a medley I wrote for the (New Year's Day 2002) wedding of two dancers here in the San Francisco Bay Area, David Newitt and Heather MacKay.
It is replete with symbolism:
1-8 |
1s lead down the middle and back to face first corners
WHILE the 2s cast off for 4 bars and turn inwards to dance
back to the top. As much as possible they form a line of
four across the dance.
-- Thus, the wedding march down the aisle with the best man and maid of honor |
---|---|
9-14 |
Hello and goodbye setting
-- Thus, the reception of the guests |
15-16 | 1s turn by right into promenade and 3s and 4s pdB in |
17-24 |
Promenade for 1s 3s and 4s
-- Thus, the wedding party |
25-30 | 1s cast and 4s cross up to dance 3/4 figure 8 round standing 3s |
31-32 |
1s cross into 4th place while 4s cast into 3rd place while 3s step up.
-- Thus, the newlyweds depart. |
