Kind regards George Meikle Lothian Scottish Dance Band ================================= The Dancing Dominie 4 x 32 Bar Strathspey for 4 couples Dance devised by Jean Attwood on 15.4.96 Suggested Music: - 'The Dancing Dominie' - composed by George Meikle. In memory of the late Barry Priddey - a teacher by profession, a dancer by inclination. 1-4 All join hands on the side and set, then turn partners with both hands as bars 1-2 of the Tourbillon. 5-8 All set, then 1st and 3rd ladies cast off 1 place while 2nd and 4th men cast up 1 place, and 1st and 3rd men, 2nd and 4th ladies cross to own side of the set. 9-10 All set. 11-12 2nd and 3rd couples cross giving right hand to partner, while 1st and 4th couples dance right hands across halfway. 13-14 2nd and 4th, 1st and 3rd couples change places on the side giving left hands. 15-16 4th and 1st couples cross giving right hand to partner, while 2nd and 3rd couples dance right hands across halfway. 4th and 2nd couples face down, 3rd and 1st couples face up. 17-20 All turn the person facing once round with the LEFT hand, then set advancing and pass each other by the left shoulder to change places. 21-24 1st and 4th couples repeat bars 17-20 but turning with the RIGHT hand. 25-28 3rd and 1st, 4th and 2nd couples circle once round to the left but on the last bar they drop hands and dance in to finish in a line up and down the set (ladies facing up and men facing down). 29-32 All set once and dance a Petronella turn to finish 3, 1, 4, 2 on own side of the set.
