N:Galway fiddler Pete Kelly told us that he had composed
this tune for a junior ceili band in the 1950's, and I have
no reason to disbelieve him. However it appears that he never
put a name to it, hence the confusion - it has been attributed
to others besides Lad O (e.g. Joe Burke).
