% N1:Transcribed from the playing of Ned Landry, and arranged by
% DPM. Original in C.
% N2:This jig has been arranged from a quadrille attributed to Canadian
% fiddler Jim Magill (1902-1954), though parts of it are found in
% earlier manuscripts. Magill was likely originally from northern
% Ireland. In the 1930's he showed up in Toronto where he worked as a
% telegrapher for the Canadian National Railroad (CNR). A skilled fiddler,
% he was much in demand for square dances in the region and formed a
% band called the Northern Ramblers, which broadcast from CFRB from 1946-1954.
% He was a prolific composer of tunes, and made 34 recordings. His
% brother Joe played bass in The Northern Ramblers. This arrangement
% is of a transcription from the playing of Ned Landry on YouTube.
% Ned Landry (1921 - 2018) of St John, New Brunswick, was a prominent
% Canadian old-time fiddler. [2020.09.22 (rev. 2020.11.17)]
