w:Once in roy-al Da_vids_ ci-ty stood a low-ly cat_tle_ shed
w:He came down to earth_ from_ hea-ven, who is God and Lord_ of_ all,
w:For He is our child_hood's_ pat-tern. Day by day, like us,_ He_ grew.
w:And our eyes at last_ shall_ see Him through His own re-deem_ing_ love

w:where a mo-ther laid_ her_ Ba-by in a man-ger for_ His_ bed.
w:And His shel-ter was_ a_ sta-ble, and His cra-dle was_ a_ stall.
w:He was lit-tle, weak,_ and_ help-less. Tears and smiles, like us_ He_ knew.
w:For that Child so dear_ and_ gen-tle is our Lord in heaven_ a_bove.

w:Ma-ry was that mo-ther mild, Je-sus Christ, her lit_tle_ child.
w:With the poor, and mean, and lowly, lived on earth our Sa_viour_ holy.
w:And He cares when we are sad, and he shares when we_ are_ glad.
w:And He leads His chil-dren on to the place where He_ is_ gone.
